There's A Starbucks Class Action Lawsuit Claiming The Starbucks Refreshers Don't Actually Contain Fruit

If you love Starbucks, you will want to know about the current class action lawsuit against them.

According to a lawsuit filed in federal court in Manhattan, Starbucks refreshers don’t actually contain the fruit after which they are named. Freeze Dried Mango Powder

For example, the lawsuit claims that the Mango Dragonfruit Lemonade, Strawberry Acai Lemonade and Pineapple Passionfruit Lemonade — don’t contain mango, passion fruit or acai.

The complaint claims, that instead of the fruits being in the drinks, the drinks are “predominantly made with water, grape juice concentrate and sugar,”.

With that being said, the complaint is accusing Starbucks of false advertising.

While these refreshers do include freeze-dried fruits such as pineapple, strawberries and dragonfruit, the other fruits seem to be missing from them.

The complaint says this is “furthering the deceptive nature of Starbucks’ advertising,”.

As a fan of the Starbucks refreshers myself, I went to the Starbucks website to check the list of ingredients.

On the Mango Dragonfruit Refresher, this is the list of ingredients:

So, according to Starbucks, it has a “Mango Dragonfruit Refreshers Base”. While that doesn’t imply there’s actual Mango in it, we don’t know what the base is made of. Therefore, it could actually have some sort of Mango juice in it.

A Starbucks spokesperson named Megan Adams told The Post:

“The allegations in the complaint are inaccurate and without merit. We look forward to defending ourselves against these claims,”

Well, it will be interesting to see how this plays out. As of right now, we just have to wait and see what comes of the lawsuit.

If Starbucks is found guilty, there may come a time when you can get some money if you’ve ever ordered a refresher.
