Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson are not only "Married to Real Estate," as the name of their hit HGTV series implies, but they are also happily married to each other. They live in a sprawling two-story single-family home in Atlanta with their three daughters. On the show, they share glimpses of their home life, and with that, their gorgeous family home. Sherrod has described the couple's family home to Homes.com as "a rustic traditional style home," adding, "The interior design is very traditional, but with all of the modern perks." The house features neutral tones and natural elements that give it an overall luxurious, yet cozy and welcoming feel. Of her personal style, designer Sherrod once described it to Architectural Digest as "comfy luxe." "I don't want to sacrifice high design and something that is edgy and beautiful and makes me feel good," she said, explaining that, with three kids at home, she also has to be practical. The exterior of Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson's massive traditional-style brick and stone estate can be seen in occasional shots on "Married to Real Estate." In the interview with Homes.com, Sherrod explained that, while the home's façade is mostly traditional, it "adds the rustic inspiration with a mix of stone, exposed wood, and brick." This helps to set the tone for some of these rustic elements and accents you'll find once you step inside. Of the exterior, we especially love the stone accent surrounding the front entrance that acts as a frame and serves as a nice contrast to the brick. Whether the exterior of your home is brick, siding, or stucco, you can incorporate a stone accent to add a rustic element to your home's façade (that is, if you live in a single-family house without an HOA getting in your way). If you're handy and interested in a DIY project, you may want to install stone veneer siding to your own house. Menards has some helpful tips for doing so. You'll want to first prepare the surface before applying a mortar scratch coat and then laying out and arranging the stone. Finally, you'll apply the stone veneer and then brush and seal it.
While you may only get a glimpse as to what's inside the dramatic double doors pictured, we can infer that this room is the home office of the stars of "Married to Real Estate." And, we have to say that those dramatic glass double doors trimmed in black are quite stunning. The trendy doors add contrast and work well with both modern and traditional styles of décor. Egypt Sherrod and husband /co-star Mike Jackson apparently love the black trim, as it's used consistently throughout their house on other doors and windows.
If you'd like to jazz up your space with a set of black French doors, keep in mind that there are multiple types. The type of door you select depends on whether you're looking for an interior or exterior door. Exterior black French doors are typically constructed of metal, wood, vinyl, or fiberglass with stronger insulation to protect from the elements. If you like the look of the interior French doors for a home office, as the stars of "Married to Real Estate" clearly do, you'd likely go with a set of black metal or wood French doors. The highlight of Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson's house is the two-story great room with 30-foot ceilings. "I love the drama," says Sherrod while giving an informal home tour along with her hubby. With its soaring ceilings and fireplace with floor-to-ceiling gray stone surround, it's easy to see why this room is one of her favorites. A large round, wooden chandelier with a farmhouse aesthetic perfectly complements the space. On either side of the fireplace are white built-in cabinets and shelving with contrasting black hardware, while dark hardwood flooring adds warmth. Furnishings are neutral and elegant, with cream-colored draperies adorning the tall windows. "For me, I love long, luxurious, thick, elegant draperies, so I put them everywhere that I possibly can," Sherrod explains.

Egypt Sherrod's kitchen is another favorite space in her house. "The room I find myself spending most of my time in is my kitchen. It's the heart of our home," she told Homes.com in 2015. "[It's] a very open concept, so I can be at the stove cooking and still talking to someone watching TV in the family room. It's perfect for entertaining."
Consistency is a clear theme in Sherrod and Mike Jackson's Atlanta home. The same cabinets and hardware seen in the great room are used in the kitchen, which features stainless steel appliances and a huge island with farmhouse sink. Adjacent to the chef's kitchen in Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson's home is the sunny breakfast room highlighted by a tall bay window that lets in lots of natural light. The three sides of the window are adorned with Sherrod's favored draperies. In the center of the space is a round, light wood table with four coordinating dining chairs. Underneath the table and chairs is a round area rug. Hanging from the ceiling is a traditional-style chandelier that offers plenty of additional light. To the right of the dining table is a white sideboard with a light wood tabletop and several decorative accents on top. On the wall above the sideboard is a large and simple, yet stunning, abstract painting in black and white.

The highlight of the room is the board-and-batten accent wall painted in a beautiful gray-blue. Decorating the wall is a round mirror that resembles a sunburst. Adorning the windows are draperies with a subtle striped pattern. A sectional in off-white fabric sits against the wall, and some patterned throw pillows add the finishing touch. As Mike Jackson explains in the video for HGTV, the room was first used as a home theater. "It was dark and gloomy and right behind the kitchen which made no sense," Sherrod explains in a post to Instagram, adding, "We moved the theater to the terrace level, cut three windows into the brick, and now we have a bright open space off the kitchen."

If the great room is the highlight of the interior of Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson's fabulous Atlanta home, the backyard has got to be the highlight of the exterior, as Sherrod shared on Instagram. The private wooded setting provides the perfect backdrop for this backyard paradise. Beyond the large deck with plenty of seating is an expansive patio with a pool and waterfall surrounded by lush landscaping. Surrounding the pool are several lounge chairs and a bench. Just a few steps up from the patio is another level with seating. Above this area, a screened-in balcony off the second floor (perhaps off the main bedroom suite?) can be seen.
Custom Chandelier Makers While we're not sure of any budget-friendly alternatives to a backyard this elaborate, there are certainly more basic backyard ideas that are also more cost-effective. Of course, the budget also depends on the size of your space; a larger space requires more materials and labor and a higher price tag. Patios tend to cost less to build than decks, with concrete, brick, and gravel patios cost-friendly options. If you already have a backyard setup you're looking to spruce up a bit, adding some gorgeous landscaping, as seen in the "Married to Real Estate" stars' backyard, will do the trick.
