Feb 28, 2023 — Stop by the Indian Lake Theater during the month of March and pick up a poem! The Adirondack Center for Writing’s Poetry Machine is moving from Chef Darrell’s Mountain Diner in Blue Mountain Lake to Indian Lake’s community theater in March, and then to Northville in April. Chocolate Bar Machine
The repurposed bubble gum-type vending machine is filled with capsules containing poetry from writers around the world. Only, you won’t need a quarter, as the poems are free.

The idea came from Erin Dorney, visiting writer at the Adirondack Center for Writing. Each month the machine will move to a new location in the region and be restocked with new poetry, including haiku, ode and cut-up poems. She says the response at Chef Darrell’s Mountain Diner was encouraging and inspiring.
Die Forming Lollipop Line Dorney says the Poetry Machine is made possible through support from Central Rebuild New York’s Artist Employment Program.
